Our Blissful Honeymoon Experience at Kuramathi Maldives
Just returned from the most amazing holiday at Kuramathi Maldives. It is difficult to put into words how stunning this island is.
My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary, ten days in a Deluxe Beach Villa with Jacuzzi on the lagoon side and four days in a Water Villa with Jacuzzi on the Reef side. It was lovely to experience both sides of the island, which are very different.
We travelled by seaplane both ways and it was worth every penny. It was a fantastic experience. Twenty-minute plane ride or 90 minutes in a boat – no competition! The private Kuramathi Maldives lounge at Male airport is a treat in itself.
ROOMS OF KURAMATHI MALDIVES:
All very well equipped with very comfortable beds. The deluxe Beach Villa had a private rear garden, with Jacuzzi and outside shower which was pretty cool. The Water Villa of Kuramathi Maldives had a walk in shower that could be reached from the inside or outside. The Jacuzzi was sited outside on the decking, it was great late at night to sit in the changing lights of the Jacuzzi looking at the Indian Ocean and the star-studded sky.
We went Select Inclusive and we would definitely do so again. Our expectations were high, but the experience was taken to another level. Every restaurant served 5-star food with 5-star service. All the restaurants were amazing and it is hard to pick a favorite. The Reef of Kuramathi Maldives was a favorite for lunch with its stunning pristine views. I would also recommend Island Barbeque restaurant where they serve traditional bbq side dishes with matured fine wines.
Neither my husband or I have ever snorkeled, but you can’t visit the Kuramathi Maldives and not snorkel because Kuramathi Maldives is known to have incredible house reefs. We invested in our own masks and snorkels, my husband had to get a prescription mask, which was well worth the money. We borrowed fins from the resort. On Selective Inclusive plan, all equipment is supplied, including a buoyancy vest, which as first timers, we were very grateful for. We were lucky to meet a lovely French couple who offered to take us out for our first time. What an experience! I was completely hooked. The reef is a wondrous place, like swimming in a tropical fish tank, very addictive.
SUNSET CRUISE OF KURAMATHI MALDIVES:
The highlight of this incredible holiday! This is part of the holiday package and not to be missed. We left the island at 5.30 in a cruiser that took 15 pax. We travelled for about 15 minutes away from the Kuramathi Maldives. We were lucky to see a pod of dolphins. The sunset was unbelievably magical. A full moon behind us and a glass of champagne in our hands, it was a very precious moment.
I have no complaints about this incredible Island. Kuramathi Maldives is truly a paradise and worth every penny. If you are going soon, be excited, be very excited, and if you haven’t booked yet, just do it!!!
